What difference does the weight of yarn make? (For crochet)?

It's got a smaller diameter, so anything you make will be smaller. You'll use a smaller hook, too. I don't know what amigurumi is, but if the size of the finished piece is important, you'll need to make adjustments for this smaller yarn.
